I am looking into using event ghost as a means to control my home theater components. Can event ghost do the following?
  • Send IR commands from one PC to another so the destination PC can transmit the IR code to the external components.
    Interface with Global Cache. http://www.globalcache.com/
Also, does event ghost have a web interface that can be controlled with the iPhone?

I think the exchange via the network can be done by the "Network Event Sender" and "Network Event Receiver". These plugins should solve the most cases.

Simplest would be to use a Keene IR Anywhere

It sends/receives IR commands from one PC over the LAN to the units

There is a beta plug-in for EG available that actually works very well

Regarding the other needs:
- iphone; do a search on this forum, there are several "things" already available
- Interface with Global Cache; if you have an API or similar you can write a plug-in
