Onkyo Zone 2 and Zone 3 remote screen

I was planning to use the IUI framework to give an iphone feel to the controls but I'm going to abandon it as the animations are just to darn choppy.

I'm integrating less but here's what my plan is...

XBMC - controlled by: EG & XBMC Remote for iPhone/iPod
Homeseer software (X10 devices) - automatic & web controls, custom HTML/ASP interface
Onkyo 805 - controlled by EG, need to finish 2nd zone controls
JRMC - need to integrate for 2nd zone audio

I've had the HTML/ASP interface for Homeseer for years, just changed it a bit to make it look nice on my iPod. Homeseer uses basic POST commands to trigger actions/devices so the interface is easy to build.

Can you shoot me some of your working code examples?

right now im just working on the interfaces. I plan to incorporate the XBMC remote stuff from the app into the regular interface so I don't have to jump apps for remote control.

Here is the latest tweak on the Onkyo interface.

The interface currently updates by pulling a variables file from the EG server every couple of seconds. Mute, input, zone, volume, frequency indicators all currently work. If I go manually change the volume, frequency, remote ect with the knobs on the receiver the remote interface lags a couple of seconds before updating. It is fun to set the update interval to 250ms or so and watch the freq indicator run up when the receiver is in scan mode

Hitting the zone1/2/3 buttons on the bottom update the commands on the remote sent to the EG webserver by prepending them with "z1, z2, or z3".

Trying to figure out how to detect mouse down/mouse up as seperate events on an iphone by using alternate mouse detection commands as clicking the volume up/down arrows increments by 1/2 unit on my onkyo requiring 200 clicks to go from silent to full volume.... unacceptable.

You can adjust the volume by clicking anywhere on the LED slider on the right side of the screen.

When you click the sleep button the frequency display changes temporarily to display the number of minutes before sleep engages.

Hoping to wrap the Onkyo part up shortly so I can move on to the DirecTV HR20 receiver.

What about having EG send a refresh/update command to the interface when necessary... this should eliminate polling, which is costly I think?

What about a long or continuous button press/hold that controls the up/down?

About the polling you mentioned.

I setup a timeout so that the polling will suspend if you don't interact with the remote for a set period of time (90 seconds)
