Out of interest, why are using IR blasters, I have an LG telly and I'm making use of the serial port as I find it more accurate.

Hi,
I have the same problem with the IR blasters under Windows 7.
I would like to point out that it is not an EventGhost issue , rather it seems like a driver issue.
I'm saying that because the plug-in works good with blasting in Windows XP ( you mentioned that you tried with Vista , probably same driver issue )

further more - I used to use another program to control the blasters in Windows XP before EG - HIP.
I tried installing it on Win7 and when you try to teach it IR code it result in Error.

another thing is that I imported the Configuration tree including all the IR codes from windows XP , and in Win7 when I try to blast , it won't work - so it's not just the learning issue - its all the blasting and receiver mechanism.

hope my info would help to provide a solution.
Thanks

oridanus: have you tried the version (a new plugin AND new service) that stottle made for vista/win7 ? It is working well for me - including learning and blasting. Stottle has spent a lot of time getting it to work and there is a long thread on the subject here: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... 89&start=0
I also find it more responsive than the old version when simply using the remote...

Thank you very much, its working!!
actually I didn't test it becasue I though that the issue that this service solved refers just to the admin permissions.
now I see it does more then that.
great
thanks again!

Hi again,

I noticed that the response time is slow.
you can't press and hold a button , is it because of the service that handles the remote instead of the driver?

is there a way to let the driver handle the remote but still using the blasters just like in Windows XP?

thanks in advanced

I don't think so, but if you want to troubleshoot slow responses you are best off posting to the forum for the win7/vista mce plugin.

I find response times pretty good, but then I never used the xp version so I have no basis for comparison, and my device may behave differently than yours. My PS3 bluetooth remote is definitely way snappier.

but can you hold a key and get more then one response from it?

I see that it is an EventGhost behavior , if you press and hold even a keyboard key ( with keyboard plug-in ) you get only one event. is there a way to get more then one event?

Certainly, for this purpose is action "Autorepeat current macro".
