Strange hook behavior
Make sure you have Keyboard plugin active and then download / start this program:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/gl ... rdlib.aspx
(i'm using the 3.5 version) i've attached just an exe and dll file to test this
now pressing any button on the keyboard we see it in both EventGhost and this small hook sample application. BUT, pressing Win keys (LWin or RWin) in the hook sample application we see two KeyDown events triggered for these buttons! Close EventGhost and it's working perfectly (one KeyDown, one KeyUp).
Why is that?

Why do you not read the Announcements?
Just the first one is called "READ THIS before posting anything".
I have sympathy with Bitmonster, that sometimes responds like this: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... f=2&t=1195

Re: Strange hook behavior
No, this is not my usual response. And I think that Bitmonster responded so strongly for the first time. Moreover, you can make sure of that by himself.SilentException wrote:ok..be it your way though it's really unnecessary in this case
I just wanted to say, that I understand Bitmonster's response (not that I agree with it). I think this time it just overreacted. But on the other hand - you must understand - Bitmonster very much devoted their free time on the development of EventGhost.
Yes, in this particular case it's unnecessary. But the requirement is legitimate. There is therefore, that the author was forced to deal with problems that have already been eliminated in earlier versions.
Now to your problem. Yes, I can confirm this behavior: Unfortunately, I can not do anything. We will have to wait for Bitmonster's response. Bitmonster just now is preparing (several weeks) relatively large change in the internal structure of the program and has little time to support.

Re: Strange hook behavior
i understand completely and i apologize if i offended anyone.. it wasn't my intention, i just didn't think it was necessary to post all that info, but from now on i'll stick to the "template posting" if *any* problems occur
thank you for taking your time and confirming this.. i'm eagerly waiting for the new version! hope it'll fix this strange behavior too..
best regards!

Re: Strange hook behavior
i solved this by recompiling cFunctions where in keyhook.c i commented out this if:
// if this is one of the two Win keys, block it till we know what to
// do with it
/*
if ((vkCode == 91) || (vkCode == 92))
{
...
...
...
}
*/
i have not experienced any issues, win keys show up normally in the eventghost log, events are triggered, everything works as before, even key combos with win keys are behaving exactly the same..
best regards,

Re: Strange hook behavior
Thanks for the upload. I'm a bit confused, though. Where does this file go?
