Hello,
I'm new to this forum, but I have been using EG for a few years now. I had a very old version that worked just fine for an IPTV set-top box I have in another room. I was controlling it with EG/USB-UIRT and all was fine until last night. It just stopped working. I can't think of anything I did that may have affected it other than some errors with other USB devices (phones). Anyway, I don't know the old version of EG that worked because I overwrote it with version EventGhost_0.3.7.r851_Setup.exe, but still the same problem. The errors are:
Autostart
Plugin: USB-UIRT
Error starting plugin: USB-UIRT
Error calling UUIRTSetUUIRTConfig
and I get this error every time I try to configure the plugin. Also, I have disconnected and reconnected the device numerous times as well as reinstalling the drivers to no avail!
I'm running WinXPsp2. Any help would be appreciated! The wife is not going to be happy when she can no longer change the channels! LOL

Try this support tool from the USB-UIRT website:

If it also shows errors, your device is defect or you have some driver/hardware conflict.
You can also try the latest Vista drivers for the USB-UIRT. They will most likely also work on XP.

I tried the diagnostic tool you suggested. My USB-UIRT flashes in response to IR commands from a remote, but the Learning process gets no input on the screen. Further, I have been unable to get XP to even recognize the Vista drivers as installable. It simply tells me there is nothing in the extracted directory that describes my hardware. I must admit, I am not sure what device in Device Manager is even the USB-UIRT.
