HID - can I override existing keypresses using Eventghost?

Post by 0ldfart »

I am using a generic MCE remote to control XBMC.

Everything is working great and the software was very easy to configure and set up.

I have got several buttons working well, but would like to disable some of the windows commands and reprogram them with commands for xbmc

for example, if I hit TAB or WINDOWS button on the remote I get tab or the Start Menu pops up (annoying). Nuymlock, Desktop and Backspace also seem to be stubborn.

Can I use Eventghost to reprogram these keys so they can be used for xbmc instead of activating commands in windows?

When I press these keys in Eventghost, they associated commands in windows (ie they dont come up as commands in the Log Pane) which is why Im having trouble getting them programmed.

Is this achievable? If so could anyone give me any pointers on how to do it?
