MCE remote (generic) XBMC Woes

Post by reapur »

Hi,
I'm having some trouble understanding what I need to do to get this remote to power XBMC. Much like some other users :)
EventGhost 0.3.7.r1030
I have vista home premium (fully patched) and I'm running XBMC. VMC works with this remote I got
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6880121003
and Vista installed the ehome driver for it.

Now most of the functions on the remote work on XBMC except Play, pause , skip back an skip forward.

When I press Play on the remote, the logger in EG reports that <space> was sent

MceRemote.Play
Play -> Space

I'm not clear what my next step should be. What do I need to do to make XBMC understand this remote or maybe what do I need to do get EG to send play to xmbc.
I'm confused right now because I don't know where the problem is: is it XBMC not understanding standard MCE remote commands or is it EG not sending the right signals?

Best Regards

The "play"="space" is the keyboard emualtion. I'll bet if you go disable the keyboard emulation and map the play to the xbmc "play", it will all be good.
