Start & End a program with one button...???

Hello there,

I just recently installed EventGhost Ver. 3.7r1030 on my WinXP SP3 machine and I'm using my FireFly remote from Snapstream (x-10).In setting up some programs to start/open and close/stop I like to use one single remote button for both functions. It took me a long time of trial and error but I finally got a few of these programs to work how I wanted. It sure doesn't seem too elegant/direct a "system" I have now and wondering if somebody could take a look at the a screenshot of part of my EG config window and tell me if there is an easier/better way to get this done.

What I do is use the "jump if long press". The first macro starts the program, but if the button is held down (I use 1 second), it switches to a different macro. I have the 2nd macro close the app.

Thats a good idea Brett. As a matter of fact I was just programming another bunch of buttons/actions and I used that exact same feature. Don't know why it didn't occur to me for the open/close thingy.

Now I have another issue...It seems like in my BeyondTV program I have to push most of the buttons on the remote TWICE for the action to get to EG and then to the program. Don't know if that was happening yesterday or not. It's happening now and it bugs me.

Gonna do some more research.

Still working on it...and many many other things in EG.
For me and my SnapStream FireFly the long button press actions seem to be be VERY buggy and VERY inconsistent. I'm looking into it/researching before I start asking double and triple questions on this forum.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with my keystroke emulation settings, or too many (or just plain bad/old/new) x-10 drivers hiding on my pc. But then again it could be the aligning of the planets too. Who's to say?

I would LOVE a way to start on action some time AFTER last button press/LIFT. Not after long press.
like...press/choose-press/choose-press/choose-lift/stop pressing-wait-ACTION.
It'll be for Alt-Tab Task Switching with one RC button.
That would be sweet.
