Hi-
I'm running EG 0.3.7.r1194 on XP SP3 with the Microsoft MCE Remote Plugin.
The remote receiver is labeled as a 'hp media center' purchased from ebay, with 2 ir blaster outputs on the back and 1 emitter.
Plug-and-play works on the device, and it loads the Microsoft eHome Receiver / Transceiver drivers.
I'm able to successfully record and transmit IR signals with the 'IR Server Suite'
but am not able to blast (or record IR signals ) in EG.
I've tried installing several of the alternate drivers for the device - http://www.byremote.com.au/Hip/mce_remote_faq.htm
but they have not helped.
I've seen some people mention GetDeviceInfo as a way to debug, but is this only an option for the beta vista/win 7 plugin? If not how do I invoke it-wasn't listed on the device actions.
Any other thoughts on how to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Can't get EG to IR blast to MCE device
Re: Can't get EG to IR blast to MCE device
The original plugin was written using C++ code that eventually became unsupported when the author rewrote everything in C#. The C# version is what became IRSS. I took the Vista code and created the Vista/Win7 plugin. There's no reason the same couldn't be done for the XP version. The problem is that it is completely separate code. So it's like a completely new project, instead of "enhancing" an existing project.
Sorry, but as it stands right now, EG doesn't support blasting from MCE remotes on XP.
