MCE Plugin - option to disable HID service

Post by sync »

Is disabling the HID service supposed to stop Windows from reacting to the remote? It doesn't do that on my Win 7 system.

When I installed the plugin I recall getting a message that the HID service could only be disabled if I'm running EG as admin. Later I discovered I have to run it as admin just to save. So I am running EG as admin.

I had to reboot in order to disable the HID service and now it is fine.

I restarted Windows and the remote still works as HID and its presses don't get registered by EG.

I have this remote, Windows 7 64 and latest EG (0.3.7.r1462). I added the MCE plugin and XBMC plugin (from Options..).

Is there a way to make this remote work with EG?

Also, the X10 plugin is in red etc. Does it matter or is that only for some other remotes?
