USB-UIRT- How To Transmit Every Code it Receives?

Post by MediaBoy »

I have my USB-UIRT mounted outside a cabinet... connected to EventGhost on a PC inside the cabinet. Also inside the cabinet (behind closed doors) are a receiver and a Tivo.

Is it possible to have EventGhost "echo" codes it receives so that the USB-UIRT transmits the codes it receives? This way I could hook up an IR LED (or 2) to the external jack on the USB-UIRT and send codes destined to my receiver and Tivo inside the cabinet.

Not sure if I am clear on this... basically all I want to do is have EventGhost transmit every code it receives from the USB-UIRT back out to the USB_UIRT.

What's the best way top achieve this?

I don't have a usbuirt so I can't really help you. I do know that there are ways to grab events using wild card and then pass them on using some simple python scripts so it may be possible to do this without having to modify the plugin itself. If you can show me some examples of the events generated by your remotes and the equivalent command that you would need to send on the usbuirt I might be able to help with a script.

If that doesn't work out you could always try something like this:

(can't vouch for the quality/functionality since I don't own one and the x10 stuff I do own is not very reliable)

After getting some feedback from Jon (dev for USB-UIRT) I've decided to go with a dedicated repeater:

$40 at buy.com.

Thanks for the info, though!
