Firstly what I am trying to achieve - I have 1 pc running multiple displays (1 monitor, 1 Tv) I want my remote which is a generic MCE remote (seems to be the HID type) to send key-press's or events etc exclusively to XBMC running on the TV display.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and the latest 0.4.0 EventGhost . And have previously tried using the latest 0.3.7 also.
The newer 0.4.0 identifies my remote as a "Speedlink SL-6399 Media Remote" and offers to install drivers which I accept, everything appears to go well except after restarting it goes through the same loop. This seems to be confirmed by device manager which still shows the Microsoft Drivers for all HID Devices, I have also tried manually installing the driver, pointing it at the inf file I found in c:\ProgramData\EventGhost\something or other ..
I assume this has something to do with driver signing and Windows 7 ?? I have tried disabling driver signing and still have the same issue.
Am I barking up the wrong tree with this? Is there a different or better way to achieve what I am trying to do? I have everything working reasonably well by simply assigning a Macro to a button to focus on the XBMC process, but would love to do away with this as I end up battling anyone actually using the PC for keyboard focus.

The 0.4.0 is Beta, with the remote downloading being one of the primary new features. If it isn't working you might also try the Vista/Win7 MCE plugin (here).

Updated - it doesn't seem to change anything, isn't the MCE plugin only for *real* MCE controllers? My controller is a generic non branded type that sends key presses, I can see some of the events via the HID plugin (only for certain buttons) others I can see via the keyboard plugin, my goal being to isolate remote generated events from *actual* keyboard/mouse events.
