I'm new here, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.
I am looking to buy myself a USB remote so that I can run xbmc on my Windows 7 machine and control it from my bed (PC is on the other side of the room) - this is probably going to sound lazy (it is...), but what I ideally want is to be able to have a button on the remote that will turn the PC monitor off as well as turn the Logitech Z-10 speakers off, while leaving the PC on (not standby or hibernate).
Now I have had a look and I have seen/tested that EventGhost can turn the screen off without any problem, it can also mute the speakers - however, these Z10's have a very bright LCD screen on them, and although muting them is helpful, I really want to be able to power them down completely otherwise the room's too bright to sleep
(told you this is a lazy thing!)My layman's view is that as they are USB interfaced and have no physical power switch (it's all touch-sensitive controls), this should be possible, but I haven't got a clue if it actually is or not.
I'm not asking anyone *how* to do this, just whether this is the type of thing EventGhost is able to do if configured correctly?
