Speedy buttons

I've got EventGhost installed but there is a problem with the buttons. They do not double click but they seem very sensitive. Like I said they do not double click but for instance the up and/or down button will speed up and down rather quickly.

Any recommendations on slowing this down some ?

Do they have autorepeat on? If so adjust it's timings to your likes.

I am not real clear what the autorepeat option is all about.
It's on but are my choices to increase the timing or to remove it ?
Can you educate me a little about the autorepeat function.

Yes if you want to have to manually push the button each time you can simply delete that auto repeat line.


Alternately you may increase that value to slow the repeat rate. IIRC 1.0 is one full second between repeats, thats too slow for most. I think the defaults are .5 which might be too fast for you.

Basically I only use autorepeat with volume and mouse controls, I maunally click for the arrow emulation.

I'm stumped here because I went into the configuration and removed all the autorepeat actions and yet when I press the up or down buttons on the remote, EventGhost still skips. Not every single time, if i am very careful and quick i can sometimes get it to go up/down a single time.

Is there anything that can be suggested ? I REALLY want to get EventGhost working for me.

Check the software that came with the remote, it if is also running it may duplicate keystrokes.

The remote is Microsoft A9O-00007 WinXP Media Center Infrared Remote Control and I didn't install anything. I plugged in the usb connector and off it ran.

I did bring up EventGhost and watched the log (left pane) and could see the up/down buttons get "logged" multiple times for a single press.

I have the same problem with my MCE remote (in vista, with alternative drivers).
Basically if I hit down, wait for some time, then hit again, I'll only get 2 events as expected.
But if I click twice real fast, I can get 3 events, and sometimes even 4. Which makes list navigation a bit hard.
I haven't tried to remove the autorepeats yet.
Did you find a solution?

I wish I had found a solution but there hasn't been any help here in the forums so I've lived with it. However i've gotten more and more frustrated with it and pulled out my Haupaugge remotes.

Since I don't have a MCE Remote I have no clue what is going wrong. The autorepeat only works for a single but long press. Internally this is called an enduring event. The icon turns red during this. So removing the autorepeat did not help.
You could try a short Wait command and then flush all events, but this is not really a good solution.

Going to hop right on this but am a little confused (just woke but can't wait to get this working). I see that there is a 1024 setup and then several updates through 1045 and 1046. So do I install 1024 setup over what I have installed on my system already ? and then install all the updates until I've installed update 1045 (and possibly 1046) ?

Took a guess and installed just the 1045 upgrade and I am so excited... Early results are that the "speedy buttons" are gone
