I have been using EG for a long time and finally found a way to control my Mr Slim Split A/C units. The codes that the IR remote sent were not able to be learned using the USB-UIRT device as they were too long. The remote sends all status info every time a button is pressed, for example, when sending an OFF command, the remote sends the temperature setting, fan speed, vane position, etc. as well as the command to turn off. I was recently able to capture the IR transmission using a Global Cache iTach unit. This works successfully using the Global Cache device. Global Cache also has a utility to convert between its code and hex codes. When I do that, it seems to convert it to hex format properly and I can paste that into an EG action for the USB-UIRT device. However, when I execute the action, EG crashes.
Does anyone have an idea on what is going on? Is it a problem with USB-UIRT or with EG itself? Has anyone used the Global Cache (I have the IP Tach (network) version) directly with EG?
