I've never been able to create a new profile. Just tweak existing. Here are my steps. Please tell me what is up.
(If I could attach a picture, it would save a thousand words)
Start EventGhost, create New, add MCE Remote Plugin
On the left side I see the reception of remote button presses, (and mouse clicks, and system events - sure would be nice to turn that noise off)
I add a macro on the right side, cancel the wizard, rename it to what I want (this case 0)
I add an Event. When I click the 0 on the remote I get MceRemote.3780 on the left, so I rename the Event to the same...
I do the same for a few more buttons...
Now, whether I add an action or not, when I press any of the programmed buttons, and EventGhost definitely sees the codes, it won't pop to the desired macro.
(I have "Autom Highlight on Event" Checked)
And something else I discovered a while ago, is when I make change, I have to save, close EventGhost and open again to see my change. This doesn't seem right...
Thanks in Advance..
Frank

Thats what the "log only assigned and activated events" check box is for.zehd wrote:On the left side I see the reception of remote button presses, (and mouse clicks, and system events - sure would be nice to turn that noise off)
Your remote doesn't seem to be a original MCE remote (as they deliver named events and no hex codes). What kind is it?zehd wrote:I add an Event. When I click the 0 on the remote I get MceRemote.3780 on the left, so I rename the Event to the same...
You must have a typo in the event name. EG is case sensitive. Better drag and drop the event from the logger.zehd wrote:Now, whether I add an action or not, when I press any of the programmed buttons, and EventGhost definitely sees the codes, it won't pop to the desired macro.
Yes, there was a bug in the MCE plugin that prevented proper initialization after a fresh add to the configuration. Get the latest beta.zehd wrote:And something else I discovered a while ago, is when I make change, I have to save, close EventGhost and open again to see my change. This doesn't seem right...

Sorry I wasn't clear. I know what that check is for. It's so you don't see the noise AFTER you have a remote programmed. I would wish to see less niose in the log window especially when I'm programming a remote, and copying the text, the mouse clicks get in the way.Bitmonster wrote:Thats what the "log only assigned and activated events" check box is for.zehd wrote: (and mouse clicks, and system events - sure would be nice to turn that noise off)
I should have said that the very same thing happens when I use the MCE Remote. I'm trying it with a Hauppauge remote. But if you want we can just say that I'm using the MCE remote from this point forward.Your remote doesn't seem to be a original MCE remote (as they deliver named events and no hex codes). I recognize that it is case sensitive. That's why I do not type in the text myself. I copy the text from the log and paste it into the event...You must have a typo in the event name. I will try by dragging and dropping

I have tried the beta, and that's where I saw too much system idle and mouse left click stuff whenever I try to programme

1. Ok, the left/right mouse events are an overkill. I had added them recently on a request, but I find them superfluous and bothering too. Removed from the latest beta...
2. Are all buttons hex codes on the hauppauge?
3. Oh, that was the missing link. I have never tried to paste them "as text" to rename them. There was a bug, as the text had a leading space in the copied text. Copy and paste of a whole event from the logger worked. Fixed in the latest beta.
