I have win 7 on a laptop with builtin IR
i have tried 2 windows MC remotes (both are rc6) and work automatically with normal buttons like up down left right mute
other buttons like more, etc do not work.... eventghost does not even record any button presses, instead it just moves up and down the list.... ?????
i have a HTPC that uses eventghost and same remote and records all presses, also windows 7....
i am trying to configure XBMC and cannot do it since no buttons are recorded..
please help!

eventghost not recording any remote button presses
Re: eventghost not recording any remote button presses
found my own resolution from post: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1789&start=375
1. Uninstalled the MceRemote Vista/Windows 7 plugin from Eventghost (right-click, delete).
2. Went into DOS, (start, run, cmd), and deleted the AlternateMceIR service via this command: sc delete AlternateMceIR (i deleted with regedit)
3. Installed the regular MCE remote plugin - make sure you uncheck: "Disable HID service for this remote (recommended). The reason for number 3 is because there is a lot of forum posts on Media Portal forums about how the default handling mechanism is better.
4. Save your Eventghost config.
5. Right-click your Eventghost shortcut icon and make sure that it's not being run as Administrator.
6. Reboot (i didnt have to reboot)
after doing this now FINALLY i can see commands in eventghost!!!!
