Eventghost freeze on Resume

Post by IceGothic »

The problem is simple; Eventghost freezes when resuming from system StandBy!

The only way to make it work again is to kill the eventghost.exe and start it again.

Anyone else is having this problem? Anyone found a solution yet?

Thanx

You probably have the impression that we we can do wonders.
Otherwise, you would provide us with some information about your configuration.
However, one piece of advice I can give you.
It probably causes some plugin that you have used in the configuration.
You can find out which it is. Try to disable any of plugin. If the problem disappears, you've found it.
Then maybe we can find a solution.

Hah! :-) Sorry for that!

I did'nt have much info to provide!

Seems logical that plugins are most likely what's causing the problem; I'll make some tests!

On a side note: For me, EventGhost is a real wonder! :-)

Found it!

I was calling "wx.CallAfter(eg.app.Exit())" on System.Suspend.

I think I used this to prevent a issue with the keyboard plugin on Resume; but the thing is... I can't remember what was the problem!

So thanx! :o)

EventGhost also stops responding for me when the computer comes out of sleep or hibernate. It does not seem to always have a problem, but often it does.

The 2 plugins that I have installed are:
"X10: Generic X10" and
"Keyboard"

They seem pretty basic, so, I'm not sure what the difficulty is. If there is additional information I can provide to help identify the problem, I'm happy to post it, but I'm new here so I'm not sure what other info would be helpful.

Thanks for any suggestions for fixing this.

A bit more info now: My computer at work is the one having the most trouble after waking from sleep/hibernate while my computer at home only occasionally has a problem even though I sleep and hibernate both machines. However, at home the "X10: Generic X10" addin is disabled because I don't use my ATI Remote Wonder at home. Only the "Keyboard" addin is enable at home (I use EventGhost as a hot-key handler to run programs when certain key combinations are pressed).

Hope this additional info helps.
