I've been using EventGhost for a while now and I must say it is pretty useful!
I have setup almost everything for my XBMC setup. I currently have EventGhost setup to run as a "Custom User Interface" using the Windows 7 Group Policy Object Editor as stated here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HO ... ect_Editor
When EventGhost is run, it does not seem to be able to detect any events for task creation, switching, destroying, etc... Because of this, I have to manually launch programs that would normally just be run by EventGhost when it detects a certain application being closed(destroyed). I notice that this only happens when Explorer.exe is not run. Since EventGhost is set as the "Custom User Interface", it is launched instead of explorer.exe. Only after launching explorer.exe manually, do I see events being logged for other applications.
I am guessing this problem has to do with the hook.dll that is located in the EventGhost Task plugin folder. I am uncertain what explorer.exe runs, but I assume it somehow loads the dll file in order to track the process list. If I close explorer.exe manually after running it, EventGhost continues to detect changes in the process list.
Does anyone know how I might go about fixing this issue? I would like to be able to resolve this without having to open explorer.exe every time I boot(if possible).
