Hi,
I have EG 0.4.1.r1640, Firefox 23.01, Flash 11.8.800.94, Windows 7 32b.
I have Task: create/switch events, Timer, OS Menu, USB-UIRT in my autostart, along with a python script for my variables.
When I start firefox from EG using a "System:Start Application" action, flash crashes on all subsequent pages, even with refresh. However when I start Firefox from Windows, Flash doesn't crash. I've tried calling firefox from a batch file, and then calling that batch file from EG, with the same result, as well as a python script with "webbrowser.open". I suspect that flash has a problem being a child of EG, but I don't know enough about it to sound intelugint.
Can you help me either fix or workaround this?
Thanks!
Dan

Re: Flash crashes when firefox started from EG
One solution I know.
Run the EventGhost as administrator.
Then it will work. This is a permissions problem.
However, it is possible (even likely) that this solution will have some unexpected side effects.

Re: Flash crashes when firefox started from EG
Hi Pako,
I did as you suggested - ran Event Ghost as Administrator - and the results were the same.
I did discover a workaround, though.
I place a shortcut to Mozilla Firefox on my desktop (It was already there, actually).
I tell Event Ghost to find window - Desktop, bring to front, sendkeys "moz{Enter}".
Now, Windows is responsible for starting Firefox, rather than Event Ghost.
It works like a charm, but it is, indeed, a workaround.
I presume that I could setup a shortcut key for it in Windows, and call that Shortcut Key from EventGhost, but that seems to be even hackier.
Thanks for your reply!
Dan

This is strange.alfadog67 wrote:I did as you suggested - ran Event Ghost as Administrator - and the results were the same.
For me it behaves the same way (when I run FF using EG then flash crashes).
But when EG run as administrator, flash is fine.

Hmm - I guess we can chalk it up to yet another Microsoft inconsistency (Says Dan from his Linux Laptop).
At any rate, thanks for replying.
Good luck!
