Hello. Request to those more experienced to help. I can't see the obvious. I am try to control my HK AVR247 receiver, and Sharp Aquos TV via RS232. But neither works. Here's the description.
I downloaded HK plugin from the forum. Added the plugin to start during startup. I plugged my HK to my PC via serial to usb. Selected the available com port. Left everything to default. As it is, when I turn on or off my HK receiver, no event is logged in eventghost, let alone control it. I suspected my serial to usb not compatible, so I got a standard serial cable and connected it to the com port of my PC. I tried out different com ports available on the plugin configuration. Still, nothing happens.
I also did the same on my TV, wherein someone posted Sharp Aquos plugin and I installed the plugin. After which, I executed the available commands that come loaded with the installation of the plugin, such as power on/ off, nothing worked. Turning on or off the TV doesn't register any event as well.
Am I supposed to see events registered even when connected to rs232 port?
Having my Harman connected to my computer via HDMI port does register events. But am I right that I cannot control it (send commands to it)? My HK doesn't support USB-CEC.
What am I missing? 1 of the plugins (HK) was confirmed working by other users. The other Sharp TV plugin is relatively new.
