So I figured, why not put all of the uses in one thread? I'll start!
1. Control your applications
2. Control media players (like Zoomplayer)
3. Control music (like Winamp)
4. Shut off monitor (to save power)
5. Control picture viewer (showing family photos on a projector? no problem)
6. Control lights (extra hardware/sometimes SW needed)
7. Create "power-saving" scripts. For example, pressing the "1" button my firefly triggers EG to find and close the most resource hungry processes on my system (Winamp and Samurize), followed by shutting off the monitor. I always press this before I leave the room to go somewhere to shut off power. If I had a lighting control system, I'd use this to shut off the lights as well.
8. Control HTPC setups like SageTV, BTV, and Medio.
9. Control programs like DSCaler for use as a television.
10. Shut down computer
11.Control volume of computer
12. Switch between laptop LCD <> Projector as primary monitor (search 1rst page of general discussion forum)
