Dry Contact Relay Hardware
Dry Contact Relay Hardware
Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple. inexpensive dry contact relay that can be controlled with Event Ghost? Currently I'm using a Linear FS20Z-1 z-wave module to complete a 12v circuit that triggers some home theater equipment. Event Ghost triggers my Vera which triggers the z-wave module. I'd like to remove my Vera and z-wave from the picture all together and have Event Ghost control some kind of relay directly. Any recommendations would be much appreciated, thanks!

In some of the cases below, you will need to provide the relay itself separetely
If you want wired, I have the following options to suggest
- 1-wire solution (I use a RPi, a 1-Wire usb adaptor and a small I/O module, in addition an external relay is needed)

- Velleman I/O board

- KMK_5I8O

Wireless RF 433 Mhz
- you would need a RFXtrx 433E and then the following AOKE relays

Re: Dry Contact Relay Hardware
On the Velleman board, where would I connect my 12v circuit?

What about this board? Possible to control with eventghost?

Re: Dry Contact Relay Hardware
In addition to the Velleman board, you need an external 5V controllable relay that you connect to one of the outputs. On the Velleman board, where would I connect my 12v circuit?
As for the other board, it looks very nice indeed, good price as well and relays already on board. Python sample code is available, so yes, that should be no problem to control from EG. You can start with some simple scripts and later actually create a complete plugin.
Best regards

Re: Dry Contact Relay Hardware
I use the Velleman board to control the blinds/curtains in my home theatre, using Somfy 24V tube motors via a relay. Works beautifully.

I am using a Denkovi 16-channel relay board with USB and it is brilliant!jlutsky wrote:What about this board? Possible to control with eventghost?
