Hi guys,
I am running a htpc here with Windows 8.1 x64 and Eg 0.4.1r1700.
I'd like to be notified some time before the system will go to sleep so I can interrupt that process if wanted.
The power functionalities are handled by Windows on my sys.
So I was wondering if anyone of you might have an idea how to accomplish this.
I was thinking about setting up the standby plugin for this. In this case eg and the plugin would control the standby and timers for that. But as there are Mediaportal and its TV-Server running on my system I'd like to avoid unwanted standbys while recording and other conflicts alike.
So, anyone got a clue how to get the systems standby timer into eg?
Thanks in advance
Luca

Trigger event some time BEFORE system standby?

Turn off the Windows standby, and use a system.idle trigger to start the timer plugin. When it reaches 0 it fires an event which you can trigger a standby 'action' in EG.
System.unidle would cancel the trigger.
System.unidle would cancel the trigger.

Re: Trigger event some time BEFORE system standby?
Thanks Blaher for replying. As written above I was thinking about doing it this way but letting eg initiate the standby collides with the standby handling of my pvr application. I've got it running though with the standby plugin. I've set it up in a way that it will show me a notification after some idle time and will shutdown all other devices like tv and avr. The actual standby is still controlled by the pvr app together with windows standby setting.
