Griffin PowerMate Bluetooth

Post by Moritz4 »

Dear all,

I just bought the Griffin PowerMate Bluetooth version and realized the drivers are only available for Mac OS...

Thanks to this (German) forum post I was informed about EventGhost and its capabilities:
http://forum.golem.de/kommentare/pc-har ... sg-3602785

I installed the latest EventGhost and paired the Bluetooth PowerMate with my Windows 8.1 64bit PC. The following post let me know that I need to use the plugin "Generic HID":

But I can't find the PowerMate in the device list, there are several cordless and bluetooth devices listed. Even if I get the right devide what's the next step?

I just want to setup a simple volume control with increase and decrease volume when spinning the powermate and mute it when pressing the whole jog wheel.

Could you please help me how I do setup this with EventGhost?

Thank you very much,
Moritz

I was looking for the same (use PowerMate Bluetooth with Windows) and read somewhere that it uses BLE. So yeah, it won't be visible as a regular HID device.
Anyone knows if there is a generic way to interact with BLE devices? It's a unique device, and I'm sure a lot of people will greatly appreciate if someone finds a way to make use of it in Windows.
