Eventghost delay with MPC-HC on Windows 10

Post by Mycrosys »

Hello there. :)

So, I've been fighting with a little problem on Windows 10. I use Kodi with MPC-HC as an external player and Eventghost to make them work. Everything was running fine on Windows 7, but on Windows 10 I have a slight delay until controls are recognized by MPC-HC when it starts up.

So basically I start a video file, it is being displayed, if I want to skip forward 30 seconds I have a button that does that - the thing is it doesn't work the within the first 3-4 Seconds when the movie file is started. It works fine after that, so it isn't a big problem, but I wonder why there's a delay/block here for 3-4 seconds until the control scheme works. Didn't have that problem on Windows 7, only 10.

Anyone has an idea?

There are many ways to do stuff in EventGhost, so you need to provide more specific information. Most likely your EventGhost config (maybe remove unrelated stuff) and show the EventGhost log (screenshots good) where it shows the problem.

Newest Stable version of MPC-HC and Kodi, Eventghost 1710 (I tried older versions as well). Settings are the same as they were on Windows 7.

From the log when I open a Movie file:

Task.Created.mpc-hc
Task.NewWindow.mpc-hc
Task.Deactivated.explorer
Task.Activated.mpc-hc
MPC-HC.Connected
MPC-HC.NowPlaying [u'', u'', u'', u'T:\\Backup\\[HorribleSubs] Ace of Diamond S2 - 28 [1080p].mkv', u'1439.857']
MPC-HC.NowPlaying [u'', u'', u'', u'T:\\Backup\\[HorribleSubs] Ace of Diamond S2 - 28 [1080p].mkv', u'1439.857']
MPC-HC.NowPlaying [u'', u'', u'', u'T:\\Backup\\[HorribleSubs] Ace of Diamond S2 - 28 [1080p].mkv', u'1439.857']
MPC-HC.NowPlaying [u'', u'', u'', u'T:\\Backup\\[HorribleSubs] Ace of Diamond S2 - 28 [1080p].mkv', u'1439.857']
MPC-HC.NowPlaying [u'', u'', u'', u'T:\\Backup\\[HorribleSubs] Ace of Diamond S2 - 28 [1080p].mkv', u'1439.857']
MPC-HC.NowPlaying [u'', u'', u'', u'T:\\Backup\\[HorribleSubs] Ace of Diamond S2 - 28 [1080p].mkv', u'1439.857']

And so on. The MPC-HC.Connected is delayed by 3-4 seconds. Once that line is in the log, I can use the controls.

There are no unused controls on my Eventghost. I only have the ones I use configured. It basically comes down to the delay of MPC-HC.Connected - and I do not know why there is one.
