Streamzap remote

Post by druid9 »

So, I have finally updated my trusty Streamzap remote for a new fangled Harmony thingy. I am still using my Streamzap IR Receiver.

EventGhost has been working flawlessly for me in controlling MediaPortal, EventGhost is so good - it just works.

I have been able to work out how to make my new Harmony be recognised by EventGhost as a Streamzap, and this works perfectly. What I would like to do is to be able to use some of the additional keys on my Harmony (such as Guide, info) which Streamzap just does not have.

I feel able to program the necessary within EventGhost, but it seems my Streamzap receiver just does not recognise the key presses. I have heard there is a Girder plug in for Streamzap which might allow me to achieve my aim, but I am so happy with EventGhost, I am reluctant to switch back. There have been enough similar queries on various sites to indicate I am not the only one trying to do this or something similar.

Any suggestions??

The Streamzap receiver theoretically can receive other codes, but its sample time is quite high and therefore many IR protocols wont work. I would try to find some devices that use the RC5 protocol. All older Philips devices should use this protocol, so I would try to find a Philips VHS-VCR code in the database.
