Im trying to emulate holding the window start button on the keyboard + Shift key followed by the Left key.

Strange question !

Harmony remotes are universal remotes. If you set it up to replace an mce remote, obviously the mce receiver will catch its ir.
But the mce receiver can receive almost any ir from any remote. So even if your harmony emulate a Sony remote for example, the mce receiver will ...

any mce receiver should work. You can find them easily and they are cheap.

If you prefer, you can go with usbuirt. It is more expensive but has robust blasting capabilities.

If you can afford it, have a look at irTrans.

Is there an adapter one can buy for their pc that allows them to use one of those universal tv remotes? Of course it has to work with eventghost :)

Issue when using eventghost with HD TV

Eventghost works fine when using it on one monitor.

When I enable second display (a HDTV at 720 X 480 resolution), eventghost captures 1 out of 40 commands. Even if I make the HDTV the main display, eventghost doesnt capture most of the commands i send it with the remote.

It seems that the coding for the OSD do not work in windows 7. It always displays "Mute On", it doesnt change.
Is a shame. Try another computer with Win7 to see if the problem is your computer or is really Win7.

At least the volume display works?

No that doesnt work either, it always shows 100 ...
