Hi,
I think the easiest way to deactivate MCE is to use the policy editor.
Type at Windows start "gpedit.msc", go to Computer configuration, Administrative Tasks (or so, sorry I#m using the german version), Windows components, Windows media center. There you have to activate the police.

das ist auch mein Problem mit der Medion X10. Da wird beim Starten von Winamp per Remote auch gleich noch PowerCinema mit gestartet, obwohl mittlerweile Vista als auch PoewrCinema neu installiert wurden.
