Holding in a button

Post by DeathAxe »

Hello, I'll explain the setup I have first. I am using the playstation 3 remote with the playstation 3 plugin, on XBMC. I mostly have everything all working, just need to tweak it a bit for conveniance.

I am wanting to make use of the colour buttons for; exiting XBMC and for shutting down the pc. This is easy of course, but instead of just using a normal button press I want to hold down the button for a set amount of time. This way I would not be shutting down the pc by accident (life if I have a move on in the dark etc)

I have tried a couple of things out, trying some actions; but I can't get it to work.

What could be a majour problem is the fact that there are 2 HID functions on each button, one for pressing in and one for release. Since someone else made the original configuration, I have no idea if it was them that set it that way, or wheather it is the plugin or not.

I have also tried setting 2 buttons to be pressed in at the same time for closing, but I didn't get anywhere with that either.

Can anyone help me? I can post or upload the config file if anyone needs to analyse it.

Thanks.

Ok, been trying to get this to work ove the last couple of days. And guess what? in 10 mins after updating the ps3 plugin; the rest fell into place. All done.

If I hold in red, it jumps to another macro (5 seconds) and exits xbmc. Same with blue, but shutting down the PC.

Sorry for wasting your time people!
