Please help, new user just want to perform 1 BASIC function

Post by Dillsnik »

Hi,

I am brand new to eventghost.

i am interested in creating a macro (maybe when i press control+space bar) on my pc to toggle my active window to windows media player and press the "play/pause" button (control+p) - that is all!

I know that is probably such a simple thing to accomplish but for the life of me after an hour of reading and experimenting i still can't get it to perform the task. I think i am close, i created a "find window" macro to find windows media player, but i can't seem to get it to execute the function of play/pause there (control+p)

i'm not sure if i'm not triggering it properly or what, but if someone can help walk me through this i would be VERY appreciative.

any other info i can give to assist would be very glad to

Thanks

To make EventGhost react to keyboard events, you need to add plugin Remote Receiver\Keyboard.
to toggle my active window to windows media player
You already found the "find window" action.
and press the "play/pause" button (control+p) - that is all!
I would try the Program Control\Windows Media Player plugin.

And if you haven't already, read this short manual.

Where is the "program control" function?

It's a plugin, and reading the manual that I linked too, you would know.
