Rebuild "Jump if double event" from 0.4.0.r1397

Post by ZappoB »

I'm using an old experimental version of EG 0.4.0.r1397 which seems not to be developed any further.

I've used the very nice function of "Jump if double event" very often, because it nearly doubles my remote-keys and works much more flawless than the long-keypress function.

Is it possible to rebuild (myself) this "double-click" event in an actual 0.3.x version of EG with some tricks?

I do not use an experimental version 0.4.0 and I did not know that the action "Jump if double event" exists.
I tried to use some parts of the experimental version in the current version 0.3.7.
Unfortunately, it looks like it can not be done easily. The difference is too much.

I can not promise anything, but I'll try at least the mentioned action "Jump if double event"
to implement in the currently maintained version 0.3.7.

Thanks Pako, that would be great! :)

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I recognize your implementation (when it's done)? I can't find any history to the newest versions of EG...

I'm not sure I understand your question correctly. I hope so.
The only place where you can watch the progress of work on the EventGhost is SourceForge SVN Repository.
For example, here is the link to Web-based Version Control Repository Browsing.

Now I'm not sure, if I can handle that SVN repository - too much information ;) I don't know anything about trunks or bitmonsters...

I just want to know, if you're done with the implementation, THAT you are done and I can test it...

I see the 0.3.7.x version of EG growing, but I can't find a history, what's new in it - so I wonder, if I can find your implementation of the double-event-command. Or can you inform me in this thread?

I wrote I can not promise anything ..., so there is nothing certain.
But if I succeed, so in that case I will certainly inform about it, also in this topic.

I noticed, that you didn't promise anything ;)

It was just "in case"...

Thanks again for trying!

Just a question: what is planned in the future with 0.4.0? Willl it be developed further or is it completely dropped?

I have never gotten long presses to work for me with my X10-Firefly...
Could you post a/the file/s of this?
It sounds interesting.

What files do you mean? The experimental EG version could be found here: http://www.eventghost.net/downloads/

The "double click" is named "Jump if double event" - so you can test on your own. But be careful, as mentioned in the entry-post, this versions of EG seems not to be developed any further!

Hi Pako, thank you very much for the new version of EG! It works very good till now :)

Has the 0.4.x version now replaced the 0.3.x? Or is it a parallel developed version?

And -as altainta stated- it would be nice to update the change log.

My intention is just to continue only the development of 0.4.x.
It depends on whether we happen to not come a hidden problem that will not be able to overcome.
But we can expect not to be necessary, returning to the 0.3.x.
Regarding CHANGE LOG:
You probably know that even Bitmonster not do it often. And yet he had no problem with English.
I have a big problem. For example, to write this text takes me about half an hour.
You can not expect that I'll write it. I have no such obligation.
Who is interested can find the necessary information in the SVN repository.
And if anyone wants to help can write a change log and I can incorporate it into the next build.
