looking for an plugin.

im looking for some sort of plugin that kan create an action if the internet connection is lost/down, is there any of that kind?

its like this, my modem(fiber) sometimes looses the connection towards the internet, and to get it to work again i need to reboot the modem, my isp cant really help me, with that, and i cant figure it out either.

I have a tellstick duo, and with that one, i could use and remote switch that i thought could kill the power to the modem and turn it back on.

So is there anything that could help me?

One way could be to use the Ping plugin.

it's apart of the standard EventGhost plugins library.

so right click your EG tree and click on add plugins. scroll down to the bottom and you should see it there.

i have tried it and in the plugin config there is this : string to match, what is this?

it seems to work with the other settings, witch action should i use, ad host or one ping now?

i have tried them both and both seem to work, i get the ping offline action when i kill the modem, and ping online action when the modem connects again.

but the problem is that when i starts the modem and the connection is being made i get the online action, but emideatley afterwards i get an offline action, and right after that i get an new online action, i think that the problem is the offline action between the online actions would kill the modem again.

Wow i hope you inderstand what i mean by this problem.

Can i increase the ping time? I think if that is the problem why i get the online,offline,online actions when the connection is made.

Remember that your internet connection might be fully operational also in cases where the host is not responding. Therefore you should select a host that is likely to be available 365/24/7

i have tried your suggestions but i still get problems, is it possible to increase the pingtime even more? i think 5000ms is maxium.

The problem is that i get more than one ping dead action, and that wont work because that action will force the modem to reboot again and im in a loop.

heres a peice of the log from eventghost.

as you can see in the beginnig of the log i turn the nexa switch of, and i get the pingdead, then i turn the switch on and i get one more pingdead.

and then when the connection is made i get 2 pingalive followed by a pingdead, and that will cause a reboot again.

do you have any solution?

ok, thanks, im at your ftp site but you have 3 different mqtt klients, wich one should i use?

i have tried the one only named MQTT klient, but that one just freezes eventghost.
