Hi all. I am using the most current build of both EG and XBMC. My problem is that some keyboard keys don't work when I enable the XBMC plugin. When the plugin is enabled, I also have problems using VLC as well.
It seems that EG doesn't know which application is being used and tries to use macros for every program. For example; I configured a macro to execute a keyboard sequence (return included) in XBMC. Now when I am in VLC and press the return key, nothing happens.
If a macro has the keyboard.C event, renaming a macro that has a C in the name will fail. The C character will not show up. How can I tell EG to use a macro based only on the program that it is designed for?
Any ideas?
thx

Getting EG to play nice with XBMC
Re: Getting EG to play nice with XBMC
You need to "enable" only what is in use at the time VLC or XBMC... so use the Exclusive Enable action to enable the key commands for which ever is in use.
The example folders in the default install shows you how.
See my example of enabling/disabling XBMC keyboard commands based on if XBMC is running or not.

Re: Getting EG to play nice with XBMC
Hi there and thanks for the reply. I have a question regarding my setup. As I understand, I create a folder that contains macros and create a macro on the same level to give the new folder exclusive rights. So...as long as the task is running in focus, all commands within it's associated folder is active. Is this correct?
1. When I am in EG and press Enter, the log shows that it is running the XBMC:Select command. The XBMC window isn't activated, neither is XBMC running at all. I am confused.
2. If I minimize EG to the taskbar and remaximize it, my folders and macros are disabled.
Here's my setup.
Folder-System Tools
....Forced:Standby
....Launch My Computer
Folder-XBMC
Macro-Enable Exclusive: System Tools
....Task.Activated.Desktop
....Enable.Exclusive:System Tools
Macro-Enable Exclusive: XBMC
....Task.Activated.Desktop
....Enable.Exclusive:XBMC

Re: Getting EG to play nice with XBMC
you have a conflict... Task.Activated.Desktop triggering both macros
setup... XBMC, W7MC for DVR & Live OTA TV, JRMC for multi-zone audio, EG, MiCasaVerde Vera3, USB-UIRT IR receiver, Harmony remote, 5.2 home theater system
Re: Getting EG to play nice with XBMC
Actually no. Just a typo when cutting/pasting. I wasn't able to add a screen shot but I have task.activated for both the system tools and XBMC.
