Plugin: Joystick - How to map CoolieHat Events

Post by puresilence2002 »

Hi all,

i got a PS3 USB remote plug. When i plug this into my windows machine it appears as a "gamecontroller" named "IR PS3 Remote Pad". In the hardware manager it appears under "Human Interface Device" as "HID- conform Gamecontroller". I use EventGhost 0.3.7.r1030 with the "Plugin: Joystick". I use Windows XP Pro SP2.

Now all buttons appear in the Log (left pane) of EventGhost correctly and i can map them to commands for lets say WinAmp perfectly. Only he UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT buttons DONT appear in the log. When i go to the gamecontroller pane of windows i see that these buttons are mapped to the "cooliehat" up,down, left, right events.

So my question: How can i get EventGhost to successfully catch these cooliehat button presses?

BTW: Great programm! Found it today and i am totally blown away by the opportunities this offers. thx :) and hope that someone can help with this issue!

Regards,

I basically have the same question. I want to map in the dual thumbsticks and the d-pad, but EventGhost only sees one of the sticks. I actually got what I wanted working using AutoHotKeys, which is script based, because they had a script of what I was looking for -- I wanted the right thumbstick to emulate the mouse.

Here is the AutoHotKeys script for the mouse control:
http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/scripts/ ... kMouse.htm
and this shows getting the right thumbstick.
http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/scripts/JoystickTest.htm

Basically, the EventGhost Joystick plugin seems to not be set to listen to the Z R V and U signals. Z R are used for my Logitech's right thumbstick.

I love EventGhost, and would like to use it for this. AutoHotKeys actually seems pretty good as well, but I really like the ui of EventGhost.

Anyway, the thing that is missing from the EG joystick seems to be Z and R. I don't know if this is Not Yet Implemented or a bug, or if there's something I'm missing. I would love to know more, so if anyone knows, please give a shout.

Thanks!
